Freedom is a funny thing. We’re all free to do what we want, to go where we want – but there are some things that help make that freedom a lot more fun. A lot of people would say that cars and car hire is one thing that does this. This page is dedicated to the fun that you can have when hiring a car.
The great thing about car hire is that you do not have the year-long running costs of a car – this, as we all know can be expensive. But as long as you have a licence, you can simply sidle up to a car hire company and get hold of what is often a very modern car. If you’ve rented many cars before you’ll probably know that you’re often given a top of the range model – something that looks less than a year old.
But while all the mod cons of cars are fantastic – such as a good music system (very important in order to enjoy the places you drive to) – the best thing about hiring a car is that you can go to places that trains and buses often stop you from going to. Buses are great – and cheap – but they do not always go off the beaten track, and if they do – they only do so about twice a day!
Car hire means you do not have to fit your holiday into any given schedule. You do not have to be at the mercy of a grumpy bus driver, draughty buses and timetables that force you to wait in all weathers – sleet, rain, wind and snow. A modern, well-heated and comfortable car can mean you can travel to the windswept beauty of a chilly Scotland, or any other place that is not endowed with reliable weather. Equally, your car can give protection against too much sun as well.
For those who travel a lot, there can be large degree of security given by car hire – something that buses and trains sometimes lack. This could be especially true for those of us who travel to far-flung parts of the world that are not as safe as European countries, for example.
If you find yourself in a town where all the hotel rooms are booked up, your hire car can also give you a place to sleep as well – and some modern cars can give you a fairly comfy time of it too, as long as you find somewhere out-of-the-way to park.
But the best thing about the hire car is the freedom it affords you. In most countries, roads lace the land, meaning you can go to some really unusual, beautiful places. The UK, for example, has some truly amazing things to see – but that can only be seen with any ease if the car is the mode of transport. The car it seems, is still the star – as is car hire – and the ultimate way to get around whilst on holiday.
