With the invention of the internet, the world became a smaller place – or so they said. Information from around the globe became instanteously accessible and has led to almost information overload. Often, web visitors will require a particular product or service from a particular location and to find this on the web, they need to do a location search. Take, for example, web design in Essex.

If a company needs a website designing they may well want to use a local company to make interaction easier in order for them to achieve the desired end product. As with most Google searches these days, if you enter the service you are looking for, in this case web design, and then the location, Essex, you will recieve results that deliver just that – web design companies that work in your specified area. This can save vast amounts of time trawling through search results and can be used in conjunction with any product or service. It is also a very good reason for a company to register with Google business listings as a quick and easy way of widespread coverage.

The pressure is on all companies today to increase productivity whilst keeping costs to a minimum and protection to a maximum. This can sometimes be a challenging task but is now made easier with the highly secure PC remote access from Proxy Networks.

Remote access is required by companies for various reasons – maybe someone needs to work remotely form their PC or technical assistance is required which needs the technician to have access to the remote computer. Of course, there is always a worry that accessing a PC remotely could leave the company at risk which is why Proxy Networks have researched the best possible methods and now use a 256 bit encryption – the highest calibre security programme – to ensure all data remains private and secure whilst the PC is being accessed off site.

This software is highly sophisticated and will only allow authorised users to remotely access the specified PC. It is equipped with a ’stealth’ mode which allows discretion and privacy and within the connection management system you can access the computer even when it is unattended which is perfect for reducing a workers downtime while the PC is being serviced etc.

A complete inventory of hardware and software being used by the accessed PC is logged, files can be managed and programs can be added or deleted. These is just the tip of the iceberg in what can be achieved with today’s high tech remote PC access and is fast becoming a neccessity for companies across the globe.

There is a true art to web design. It’s far more than a series of pretty pictures on a web page.

Of course, a web design must first be attention grabbing whilst not being too overbearing. It must show creativity and cleverness and plays a part in getting the message regarding the particular product or service being advertised across to the visitor. However, beware the web design that gives you a complicated, overly busy website that is difficult to navigate.

Once a visitor lands on a website, you have a limited amount of time for them to find what they are loooking for before they log off. A visitor enters a search term, opts to visitor your webpage and once there expects to quickly find what he wants without a complicated series of clicking through the pages.

Get the web design right and you’ll have a site that not only attracts visitors but holds their attention long enough for them to convert into customers and also has them returning time and again.

A friend of mine recently went into hospital because he fell down his staircase and broke his ankle. When he told me where he was I was surprised to find he was checked into a private hospital. I thought he would be in the local NHS, but as he told me, he actually had health insurance – which meant that he could enjoy the luxury (or very close to it) of a private hospital.

I have to admit that I wasn’t very keen on the idea of private health systems – that was, until I went to see my friend in his hospital bed. He was as happy as Larry – and he said the food was amazing and the nurses were very nice indeed. He has his own little room with fresh flowers by the window. I even got a cup of tea without asking – oh joy I thought – I wish I had health insurance like he did.

Although of course would never wish to be in hospital, I have to say if I was, then it would be almost like staying in a hotel to be in a private hospital such as this.

The World Cup is here and the Spaniard in the corner seems to think that Spain will win. I don’t know, but us English are clinging to the hope that our players will show their true colours and prove themselves to be substantially more than the middling players they appeared to be against the USA.

And the World Cup makes every game interesting – even Slovenia versus Algeria. Any other meeting between such nations would not illicit the merest flicker of interest from even the most die-hard football fan. And yet this June we have all been transfixed by these teams – and will be transfixed by many more to come.

It’s funny how watching England can make a hitherto exciting experience turn into an event that is filled with dread. But then, if we didn’t feel the pain of losing, we wouldn’t feel the joy of winning. This, predictably, is like life too. Losing is hard to do, but winning is much harder. I think we sometimes, on some level, choose to lose so we don’t have risk losing what we’ve won. That would be much worse than losing in the first place.

Come on England.

I took one of those short breaks to Copenhagen once. It seems funny to think of it now, as it was mid winter when I went. I went there with my mate Tim, and we went there thinking we could have a right good old time. But then we went to a bar and discovered that it would cost £4 a beer. This seemed like a lot to us in the year 2004.

As far as short breaks go, it wasn’t a huge success. We should have had a bit more money. And I should have tried to live on something other than cheese and bread. But I do love cheese and bread – and the Danes have some good examples.

Looking back, I think I would rather take my short breaks at home in the UK. Perhaps try a canal trip on the Norfolk Broads, or one of the many holiday camps. Of course winter is not the best time to take any break. If you want really good short breaks, you should consider going to somewhere in the UK – and of course, waiting for the summer to arrive.

Denmark is OK, but I recommend trying somewhere a little closer to home to be honest.

Champagne is such a memorable experience, making you feel dizzy and lightheaded almost instantly –in a good way of course. Those little golden bubbles dance on your tongue and invite you to imbibe more and more. It really makes an occasion special and shows that whoever supplies the Champagne really cares.

True, it is expensive. But for many people, it adds a level of excitement to proceedings that few other drinks can muster. In a word, Champagne makes you feel special – and it makes those around you feel special – like they are taking part in something that will be remembered for a long time.

When I say remembered, that might not be totally accurate because if you have too much of this lovely, famous imbibe, you may not remember just how much fun you had. Not to worry though, just ensure you have lots of those disposable cameras lying around so that people will capture those fun moments fuelled by all that bubbly. Just make sure you have plenty of it as it goes quickly – and everyone will want a glass!

Look out for deals on Champers as they do crop up from time to time – important if you’re having a big get together.

A look at how you can have lots of short breaks instead of a few longer breaks.

When we get our allotted holidays for the year, it’s tempting to plan big breaks that give you a nice change of scenery. It’s often the case that we take our 5 days off, surrounding by two weekends – which gives us a grand total of 9 days off. But let’s not discount short breaks.

Short breaks mean we can spread our holiday out over a longer period – and we always have something to look forward to that isn’t too far away. A short break might just require 2 days off, surrounded by a weekend. If you have, say, 20 days off, you’d be able to have 10 short breaks over the year, which is one every 5 weeks.

This means you’d always have a holiday break on the horizon, and never feel that whatever life is throwing at you is swamping you. There’s always an escape. And you don’t have to pay through the nose for it either. With a little time and concentration you’ll be able to find some great deals that will help you get away for less. You don’t always have to go abroad either – there are plenty of great locations for short breaks right here in the UK too.

A look at health insurance that you can get online.

As my concerns have grown over the state health system, I have found recently my attention turning to health on-line health insurance. I wouldn’t have normally thought of it, but a recent experience waiting 4 hours for medical attention changed my mind somewhat. So I tried it, and found it to be quite easy.

I think health is very important, and when you really think about it, it is the most important thing we have. It’s much like a possession – like a car or a house – but once your health is gone, there’s no way to buy a replacement for it! So I think it’s important to keep yourself in tip condition. One of the ways to do this is by looking at health online health insurance. It might actually end up being cheaper than you think – and who can put a price of health?

The state system is fine for a backup, but if you want to spend less time waiting and find yourself in arguably cleaner and more pleasant surroundings, the health insurance might well make life considerably easier. If your health is good, you feel good – and who can argue with that?

A look at Champers when drunk atop the Eiffel Tower - delicious but a little ostentatious.

It sounds really cheesy (no, this is not a Roquefort focussed blog), but I did actually have Champagne whilst in Paris recently. I had it in the restaurant area of the Eiffel Tower, where I also proposed marriage.

But due to the fact that buying Champagne was ‘too ostentatious’ I was turned down on this occasion. I thought the occasion merited it – but it turns out she doesn’t like Champers. She said I never listen and how could we base a marriage on not listening. She said something like this but I can’t remember exactly.

On the plus side, the champagne tasted amazing – and I ended up drinking it all by myself. Sounds sad, but it was good fun. At least, it was until I tried to clamber over the side of the Tour Eiffel. They told me to ‘get off Rosbiff’; where is your French liberty now?

Still, I had a lovely time in Paris, where the bread, cheese and wine were of extra-ordinary quality. It was a lot friendlier than I was told, too. I highly recommend it as a place to go and enjoy a nice glass of bubbly or 9.
