I went to see someone in a private hospital once. I was thinking that it would be like a normal state run hospital, but it was quite a bit different. The person I was visiting was actually in their own room – which I wasn’t expecting. When I asked her how she could afford it, she said she had taken out health insurance.
She even had flowers by her bed – and the whole atmosphere of the hospital seem a lto more calm and relaxing than an NHS hospital. It turns out that the treatment she received at the private hospital would have meant a long 2 month wait on the NHS, so i can understand why she preferred her private room paid for by her health insurance.
She had a meal while I was there – and smelled pretty good. Much better than the food I have experienced in state hospitals, which can be a little bland at best. She had lamb chops and mashed potato. After she came out she said she enjoyed it so much that she didn’t want to leave! She has now taken out health insurance herself. To be honest I’m also thinking about it!
