The Delights Of Copenhagen

The Danish capital offers a great deal for visitors to enjoy, with centuries of history as demonstrated by the wealth of architecture and culture present in Copenhagen. If you’re going to this city to have a few drinks with some friends, you may well discover that the price of a beer prevents you from getting too drunk – up to five pounds as standard.

But as you wander round the city with a feeling of slight tipsiness, you’ll be able to enjoy the various charms. Check out the Carlsberg brewery, where you’ll get a free beer to sample (to cut down your costs a little). Don’t miss the huge stone elephants outside either.
The city has one of the longest shopping streets in the world, as well as a highly enjoyable sex museum. Copenhagen is, however, not the sex industry capital it once was – although you’ll still find plenty of red light district action if that’s what you’re after.
In summer, the Tivoli Gardens are a must – beautifully landscaped gardens where the whole city goes to relax. This is just one of the many green areas around the city, which also include the grounds of Rosenberg Castle.
As you would expect for a city of this size, there are plenty of good hotels (although they can be expensive). You could probably do a cheap weekend here by booking a hostel and flying by Easyjet, Ryanair or one of the other low cost carriers.
