Rome

Rome is just about as good as you hope it will be. Not only is it stuffed full of really great old buildings but you only need to stretch your arm out in any direction and you can get hold of as much pizza and coffee as you might need. And let’s not forget the ice cream.

Gaze in wonder as you stand inside the Colosseum, where you can get a real sense of history. As such a huge structure, it is hard to believe it has lasted so long. A bloody but very fascinating past, sure to absorb people of all ages.
And Rome feels pretty huge, as well – you’ll need a good few days to even scratch the surface. The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and remnants of the ancient centre all add up to a memorable experience for all who come here. There are a great range of hotels and hostels dotted around the city – so there’s something for all budgets and tastes. Rome has a very good, if old, underground system – offering an affordable way to get around. If you’re fit enough, walking is also a great way to get a good feel of city. You can only get a sense of the size of it by walking around it – and you’ll come to the conclusion that it’s very big indeed.
Undeniably one of the worlds great cities.
