New Houses On The Aussie Coast
Oct 23rd, 2009 by PaPa in The Outer Limits
I recall yet another tale from the land of endless peach orchards and aggressive ants, a particular house I stayed in some town that I can’t remember the name of. In this town were several new houses built in a row. Here I met up with my Dutch friend (see post regarding Nissan Skyline) who I had bumped into several times, quite co-incidentally, up and down Australia’s east coast.

He had moved in to this new house and he was sharing it with a shark attack victim. Seriously, unless I’ve made that up, he actually had been attacked by a shark. But that wasn’t most notable thing about this house; it was an example of how cheap you could rent out a good quality house in Oz. There’s so much less pressure on housing down in Antipodean parts, compared to our concrete laced and very soggy lump of earth that’s slowly sinking in to the Atlantic.
It’s true, Oz is turning into a dustbowl and no matter how many houses they build, they’re no good if you don’t have any water. What we need is to dig two holes between Australia and the UK; one carrying moisture from Britain, and the other carry sunbeams from Australia. OK, this idea is copyright me 2009, ok, don’t try and steal it kthanx.
